Seems artist Shepard Fairey, who created a pro-Obama poster from a news photograph without compensation, had a “lapse in judgement” as he mislead the court and his own attorneys by saying he used a different photograph than the one the Associated Press claimed he purloined.
His attorneys came to their own wise judgment and withdrew from the case.
What this means for the photographer, Mannie Garcia, in his efforts to prove the copyright in the photo actually belongs to him and not the AP is to be seen.
